Do not try to make people believe in what you do! People will rarely give up their opinions and beliefs to believe in another! Try not to rub your thoughts on things in peoples faces, because, as you are trying to make yourself sound like a bloody genius or something, you make yourself look like an idiot.
I am an atheist, and many, many people have tried to shove religion down my throat, and it just shows me how corrupt and hypocritical religion is. Even fellow atheists have hated on religious people because they're religious. I won't shove my religious views on anyone, because I know that no one will accept it, and I also know that it is extremely rude and takes away people's rights to believe in what they want. Showing them articles and videos of propaganda against their opinion won't help either, because with literally everything ever, there's a good side, and a bad side.
For example:
Hitler was known as a tyrant, a terrifying beast, the devil incarnate, and more. But, he's painted some beautiful masterpieces. He was very talented in that section of life, I must admit.
And even the Catholic Church, which is known for being "the best" church. The bishops are raping children, they build colossal cathedrals and shrines while there's starving children in all ends of the world, and the very god they worship is seen as a terrifying killing-machine!
"He only killed people to get his point across," religious people will say. Well, that's terrible! If God only murdered every single person on Earth (except for Noah and crew) just because they didn't think the way he did, he's being a bad influence on Earth! People'll see that and think that it's okay to kill someone just because thsey think differently. If we used the Bible as a legitimate guide to life, we'd be in jail for murder, rape, genocide, domestic violence, vandalism, racial discrimination, and slavery!
Okay. I got carried away a little bit.
Back to what I was saying.
People see absolutely no downside to their opinions. If you are a major Donald Trump supporter, you probably will defend everything that he does, unfortunately. You see nothing wrong with him, or, at least, that is the image that you project out to society. Perhaps, deep in your mind, you know that he's horrible but your heart refuses to believe as such because that would prove you wrong, and God knows that people hate to be proven wrong, whether it's the things that they faithfully believe in, or the things that they say. People don't like that. It's as human as life itself is.
It's easier than ever to make people believe in something ridiculous. People would probably scold Nazis because they supported Hitler, but, if you watched enough Nazi propaganda, you'd start to support him and believe in what he says. If you watch a two hour long documentary about mermaids, you will believe in mermaids. If you read a book about how the Apocalypse will supposedly play out, you'll be terrified and paranoid. You can brainwash anyone to believe in even the most corrupt of beliefs. This is especially common in religion, politics, and conspiracy theories.
Conspiracy theories are interesting. They take a proven fact and turn it around and flip it and twist it and make theories.
For example:
J looks like an upside-down hook. Hooks are deadly. And guess whose name starts with a J? Joe Biden.
It's like that. There's an infinite amount of them, but if you hear more and more "proof" that seems to come about, the more you'll eventually fall victim to brainwashing.
So, please. When thinking about what to believe and what not to believe, use your inner logic to decided whether or not it's even remotely possible that that belief is true. Weigh the pros and cons. See things from multiple perspectives, and please, please, please don't shove it down people's throats, and I firmly apologize if it sounds like I am shoving mine down yours.
