I am not pressing my views on people, and I will try my best not to be biased. These are facts, and if you get mad at them, that's your problem.
One thing that I noticed a lot on YouTube, is that conservatives will find the dumbest liberals to try to make them all look bad. "Look! This liberal is dumb, so they're all dumb!" The same goes for liberals who post videos on extreme conservatives. They will try their hardest to make the other party look terrible. Honestly, based off of what I've heard (and one of the reasons I became liberal), is that democrats are more intelligent than republicans. I mean, think of some of the greatest minds who every have lived: Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins, Terence Tao, Leonardo da Vinci, George Washington, Johann Goethe, Charles Darwin, Steve Jobs, Galileo Galilei, Nicolaus Copernicus, Nikola Tesla, Grover Cleveland, Stephen King, Steven Spielberg, John Williams, John Lennon, J.K. Rowling, Tim Burton, John Kennedy, and many, many others. None of them are republicans. In fact, nearly all scientists are democrat. Why? No one really knows. But it shows that democrats are definitely the smartest party, and that was one of the main reasons why I became one. I mean, if you look at a list of the IQs of all of the presidents, notice that democrats typically have higher IQs than republicans. The arguably smartest man who has every lived, William James Sidis, was a democrat. So, the fact that Democrats are smarter was a factor in my becoming a Democrat.
I was not a Republican beforehand, though. I didn't care for politics then. In my fourteenth year on this glorious planet, I found my social identity: A bisexual liberal atheist. I've always been bisexual, but I started out this year as an undecided Catholic.
Another crucial reason why I became a liberal was equal rights. Republicans believe that the majorities are far superior to the minorities. Liberals treat everyone equally, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or personality. Republicans, on the other hand, will only accept rich straight white Christian men. Women are useless, blacks are scum, Latinos are rapists, atheists will burn in the hell they don't believe in, the poor have a choice to be poor, and LGBT people are just mentally ill. I think that, regardless of who you are, you're a human being, no matter how much rightists will tell you otherwise. It's amazing that Christians aren't all liberals. Jesus supposedly said in the Bible to respect everyone, to love everyone, and to give to the poor and be selfless, but it appears that Christians want to be more faithful to their political party than their religion. It's the cruelty, the hypocrisy, and the ridiculousness of conservatives that turned me away from them.
I also want our country to progress, scientifically, socially, and financially. Republicans don't like change. They always want our country to be like the one they grew up with because that's what they're used to. Their stubbornness shows in their attitude. Economists prefer Democrats because Republicans would economically ruin our country (here is the link to the specifics). Republicans want to stop scientists from discovering new things because they are worried that they will prove that God isn't real, or that scientists will prove that evolution is real. They also think that science is just a waste of time, because we know all of the things that we need to know. Republicans also think that social issues have been solved years ago, and that whites are superior to blacks. They not only want to stop our progression as a country; they want to rewind our progress. They don't believe in climate change because they grew up thinking that people who cared for our planet were a bunch of wackos. They won't believe a lot of stuff because the people who teach about it are crazy in their eyes.
Now, there are a lot of problems with liberals, but there's more problems with conservatives. I do not support every single liberal, and I am not responsible for the actions of fellow liberals. You could say that, for example, Hitler was a liberal (which he wasn't, anyways). Every party has good people and bad people, but I fail to see many good conservatives. I mean, Hitler was a Christian, but I am not in any way going to think that all Christians are like him. If someone happens to have the same views as you do, you don't have to support everything they do and defend everything that they do. Richard Dawkins happens to be one of the most influential atheists, but there's a few things about him that I don't like. He's very intelligent, a great scientist, and a great speaker, but he will attack Christianity. I know that Christianity is just as legit as atheism, but almost all facts point towards atheism. But, still. You don't need to attack someone who thinks differently than you! Especially when attacking Christians, because there are billions of them and going into that territory can be terrifying. If you attack one, you attack them all, and within a day or two, you're hated by the vast majority of the world.
Back to what I was saying. I don't agree with every single little thing that Liberals teach. I personally would like to make abortions only available to rape victims, and free birth control should be a thing. I don't support feminazis or Black Lives Matter members that are more racist towards whites than vice versa. I also don't endorse the violent protests, but I do promote peaceful ones.
I have given the main reasons why I am liberal, and there also tons more. You can check out this link here to read a few more. You may leave a comment below with your opinion or a question, but let's keep this civil. :)
